Establishing Professional Contacts
This was an exciting and easy challenge for me so I thought. It was the e-mail provider that I was using and not whom I chose to get in contact with. Every time I would sent out the email it would come back in error. It has taken me two days and some technical help from my ISP server, but I have now been able to send out a few emails. My fingers are cross and I will keep everyone inform about how things are going in the next few weeks. I decided on Singapore and Romania as professional contacts.
My only tips that I can share is to be patient. Do not try to rush the people to answer you back. Make sure you chose a country you know nothing about. It makes it more fun and exciting to know about the new things you may be learning, The biggest tip is ask for help if you need it. Do not wait until to last moment and then ask. You have then wasted so much valuable time.
Expanding Resources
I chose Early Childhood Australia. I like the website and I am very interested in how the children “from down under” learn. I signed up for a free newsletter called ECA WebWatch. I have already received a newsletter in my email. I will keep you up to day on different issues that I may see to share over the next few weeks.

Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI think it is exciting that you have chosen two countries that you know little about to do your research. I have e-mailed several different places and am waiting for responses from them. I have received about ten error messages from my e-mail, though, saying that the e-mails were not sent, so what you have shared in terms of sending the e-mails in very helpful as well. Thank you for that!
The research you are doing on Early Childhood Australia seems exciting as well. Thanks for your willingness to post all you're learning from that. I am confident that this project will be exciting for all of us and teach us how to be better teachers in a growing global economy.
I look forward to learning with and from you!

Sandra,
ReplyDeleteYou are right; we cannot expect people to email back quickly. However, in my case, many of my emails have came back or have been delayed. It is quite frustrating, but I am trying to remain hopeful!
I am excited to hear about what you learn about Australian education! I can't wait to read your posts!!
Blessings,
Susan
I have emails out to professionals in Romania and Singapore - we will have to share our findings.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear what you learn about Australia ECE.
Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI, like you, am waiting to hear back from the professionals I wrote in India and Morocco. So far I have had no luck, so I may be participating in the alternative assignment, but I will also keep my fingers crossed!!! Good luck! I am looking forward to reading your blog!
